Live Entertainment · Shelter Cove Harbour
Hilton Head Island's beloved family entertainer — performing at Shelter Cove Harbour since 1988.
About the Show
Shannon Tanner has been entertaining families at Shelter Cove Harbour for over three decades, making him one of the most beloved performers on Hilton Head Island. His high-energy, interactive show blends original songs, comedy, and audience participation — bringing kids to the stage and keeping parents laughing just as hard.
The show takes place outdoors on the waterfront stage at Shelter Cove Harbour, with the marina and Broad Creek as the backdrop. Families spread out on the lawn, grab food from nearby restaurants, and settle in for an evening that's become a rite of passage for generations of Hilton Head visitors.
Shannon performs two shows each night — the first at 7:00 PM and the second at 8:30 PM. Both are completely free. Arrive 20–30 minutes early to get a good spot on the lawn, especially during peak summer weeks.

What to Expect
Shannon pulls kids from the audience, teaches them songs, and turns the whole lawn into a giant sing-along. Kids who've been coming for years know all the words.
Shows run at 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM every night during the summer season. Each show runs about 45–60 minutes.
The show is held on the open-air stage at Shelter Cove Harbour, right on the marina. Bring a blanket or low beach chairs — the lawn fills up fast.
No tickets, no reservations. Just show up. Grab dinner at one of the harbour restaurants before the show and make a full evening of it.
The show runs the full summer season, typically from late May through early September. Check shannontanner.com for exact dates each year.
During July 4th week and peak summer weekends, the lawn can be standing-room only. Arrive 30 minutes early to claim your spot.
Insider Tips
Dinner before the show
Grab a table at Poseidon, Tio's Latin Kitchen, or ELA's Blu Water Grille before the 7 PM show. Most restaurants are a 2-minute walk from the stage. Book ahead on weekends.
Bring a blanket
The lawn area in front of the stage is first-come, first-served. A beach blanket or low camp chairs are ideal. Umbrellas and tall chairs block the view for families behind you.
Kids get pulled on stage
Shannon regularly invites kids up to perform with him. If your child is shy, sit toward the back. If they're a performer at heart, sit front and center.
Stay for the fireworks
Every Tuesday night during the summer, Shelter Cove Harbour hosts HarbourFest with fireworks over the water after the show. It's one of the best free events on the island.
Dinner, live music, and fireworks — all free, all on the waterfront.
